A GOOD  FATHER 

The guy all his childhood  has  been feeling that his  parents do not like each other. Well,  there was  the logical explanation: in their case  to  be a family  was  a  just a kind of job.

The dad  and  the boy were very close.  They used to do  many things together: fishing, playing  football, travelling. And  mother was on the sidelines... 

And  finally the guy turned 18 old. That day the father at dinner time in the restaurant told him the  truth  that  explained what  was  going  on then.

He  said that  his own mother died during childbirth. And  he did not want to drag strangers into the house.  But he thought that the  boy needed the woman's care. He found a  call-girl and offered her to work as the mother until he get the age of 18 years  old. Also  said  that  the  next day after  his  birthday party ‘the  mother” was leaving them forever. 

The  guy was upset. He used to find this woman like a good one. And  even  if  she  was  not  his blood  mother,  he  used  to  have  warm  feeling  to  her. He  even  thought  it would be  nice,  if  they  still create a  true family. But  as  the  father  explained,  this woman  is  completely  different  from the one  who  was  his  mother. And  during  the  life  he  did  not  find anyone, at  least  similar, to his first  and, probably  last love of  the  life..

Comment  of psychologist: 

The  situation  can  have  a  double  sense  here. The father  commented  his  actions like the one that he was was  taking  care  about  his  child  and  wanted  the  child had  a  proper  care. And, as  there the  real mother  was  missing, he "rented" a  mother  for his  kid. The  child  used  to  get  all  the  necessary  things,  that taking  care  about  the  kid  includes. But,  the  father  did  not  think  about  such  the  important  thing  like  the  mental care. As it was  mentioned  there,  the child used  to  feel  that  something  is  going wrong  in their  family,  was  feeling  the  love  between parents  missing.. This  factor  is  also  very  important for  normal  development of  the  kid. They  did  not  lie to the  child,  but  also  did  not  tell  the  truth. But,  all  this  time,  till  the  time  the  kid has got  to  know  the  truth,  he  was thinking about some  wrong  things...

And,  may  be, for  the  father  it  was  just  a way  to  skip  problems. It  is  comfortable not  to have problems that  can  appear  with  a new  family,  and  another,  "real"  woman  to  arrive. He  had  to find  the  proper  one,  that  could  make  happy  both, him and  his  son. And  at  the  same  time,  he  had  to make  happy  that  woman, too. And there was easy with "rented" mother:  just pay and  that's  set.

The "mother" was  doing  just  a  job. Probably,  in a good  and  proper  way. May  be,  she  was a  kind of  woman  who  did  not  have,  or prefer  not  to  have  a family,  and  this  was  just  good opportunity  for  her. But,  agree,  it  was  not  an  easy job.
